    What a great start to our first learn to skate program for the year! Today was the start of our learn to skate program for 2021. We are so proud of each and every one of these ladies that came and gave it their all and really showed some gusto given that for many of them, it was the first time they had strapped on a pair of skates!     Local Sports Grant

    Today we received a "big cheque" from the NSW State Government as part of their Local Sports Grants for 2020. We're very excited to have received this and it's going to allow our team to purchase new uniforms for everyone as well as provide our entry fees to play at The Great Southern Slam in a National Tournament next year.     Derby Fest 2020 was a complete success! Three days worth of non stop learning in the QLD humidity and we couldn’t have left any happier ☀️ We caught up with some old friends, made lots of new friends and were coached by some of the best players in the world 🌎 These amazing photos by 📷 Richard Tompsett just don’t do the experience justice but they come pretty damn close.     Can't wait for the new year to start!

    These fabulous folk couldn’t wait for league practice to return and just had to lace up and skate yesterday! It was a really fun day dusting off the cobwebs and rolling around. Some of our skaters were even practising some amazing tricks they'd started to learn over the break. We can't wait to see what next year brings now!     Last night a bunch of our Central Coast Roller Derby United members participated in the Sydney Roller Derby League - Stranger Things Battle of Starcourt. It was another fun night of pot luck teams. There were lots of CCCRDU and S2D2 players in both games with a sold represent from the central coast with OCD’s Hayley Damage as well.     On Sunday a few of our skaters did some crazy amazing things! A few of our Central Coast Roller Derby players have signed up to participate in South Side Derby Doll's home season and the first game was today.     What a fantastic long weekend that was! Here's the Royal Rumble Wrap Up! This year was our first year at the Royal Rumble Tournament and we thought we’d give everyone some stats from our weekend: 1 very long drive to QLD 1 karaoke rendition on Bohemian Rhapsody 1 new Backstreet Boys warm up song 3 games Starting with 11 skaters Finishing with 6 skaters 64 penalties sat 5 foul outs 2 injuries Finishing 4th in division 2 1 slightly less long drive back home Too many bananas eat

    CCRDU at Round 2 of Newcastle Home Team Matches

    Last night five of Central Coast Roller Derby United's members played in NRDL's home team bout (round 2). This was the Bogeys vs Hellcats. They all did a really amazing job. Wolfie, who normally plays for the Fort Smashleys, went along as a spectator last night but when the Bogey's team was short a player she donned a uniform and her skates and stepped in like a true champion sports woman.
