We are so proud of each and every one of these ladies that came and gave it their all and really showed some gusto given that for many of them, it was the first time they had strapped on a pair of skates! Derby Fest 2020 was a complete success! Three days worth of non stop learning in the QLD humidity and we couldn’t have left any happier ☀️ We caught up with some old friends, made lots of new friends and were coached by some of the best players in the world 🌎 These amazing photos by 📷 Richard Tompsett just don’t do the experience justice but they come pretty damn close. These fabulous folk couldn’t wait for league practice to return and just had to lace up and skate yesterday! It was a really fun day dusting off the cobwebs and rolling around. Some of our skaters were even practising some amazing tricks they'd started to learn over the break. We can't wait to see what next year brings now! We had the whole collection of Hogwarts Houses represented tonight at Sydney Roller Derby League's House Cup! On Sunday a few of our skaters did some crazy amazing things! A few of our Central Coast Roller Derby players have signed up to participate in South Side Derby Doll's home season and the first game was today. This year was our first year at the Royal Rumble Tournament and we thought we’d give everyone some stats from our weekend: 1 very long drive to QLD 1 karaoke rendition on Bohemian Rhapsody 1 new Backstreet Boys warm up song 3 games Starting with 11 skaters Finishing with 6 skaters 64 penalties sat 5 foul outs 2 injuries Finishing 4th in division 2 1 slightly less long drive back home Too many bananas eat

We just wanted to share with everyone how amazing our ladies, Jugs & Squeals, looked at Mardi Gras 🌈 last weekend! The theme was birds of paradise 💐 in honour of Two-Ton Teyla who organised the first roller derby group at Mardi Gras 10 years ago 🌈.
